(Now ¹  all the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, ²  acknowledged ³  God’s justice, because they had been baptized ⁴  with John’s baptism.

Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, “I will confess ¹  my rebellious acts to the Lord.” And then you forgave my sins. ²  (Selah)

Judah recognized them and said, “She is more upright ¹  than I am, because I wouldn’t give her to Shelah my son.” He did not have sexual relations with her ²  again.

God saw ¹  the Israelites, and God understood…. ² 

He confessed – he did not deny but confessed – “I am not the Christ!” ¹ 

The one who has accepted his testimony has confirmed clearly that God is truthful. ¹ 

just as also you have partly understood us, that we are your source of pride just as you also are ours ¹  in the day of the Lord Jesus. ² 

These all died in faith without receiving the things promised, ¹  but they saw them in the distance and welcomed them and acknowledged that they were strangers and foreigners ²  on the earth.

And further, ¹  when you say that his anger does not punish, ²  and that he does not know transgression! ³ 

More and more believers in the Lord were added to their number, ¹  crowds of both men and women.

who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment. ¹ 

And so, ¹  since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.” ² 

You must not profane my holy name, and I will be sanctified in the midst of the Israelites. I am the Lord who sanctifies you,

(They gave their word ¹  to send away their wives; their guilt offering was a ram from the flock for their guilt.)

I am the Lord, I have no peer, ¹  there is no God but me. I arm you for battle, ²  even though you do not recognize ³  me.

Yet it was I who led ¹  Ephraim, I took them by the arm; but they did not acknowledge that I had healed them. ² 

Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men ¹  know that you sent me.

And God, who knows the heart, ¹  has testified ²  to them by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, ³ 

Crispus, the president of the synagogue, ¹  believed in the Lord together with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians who heard about it ²  believed and were baptized.

and when James, Cephas, ¹  and John, who had a reputation as ²  pillars, ³  recognized ⁴  the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me ⁵  the right hand of fellowship, agreeing ⁶  that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. ⁷
