“Regarding all the things I have been accused of by the Jews, King Agrippa, ¹  I consider myself fortunate that I am about to make my defense before you today,

Now ¹  at that time certain ²  Chaldeans came forward and brought malicious accusations against ³  the Jews.

But when he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he did not respond.

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

The chief priests and the experts in the law ¹  were there, vehemently accusing him. ² 

When he arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, ¹  bringing many serious ²  charges that they were not able to prove. ³ 

Then ¹  the chief priests began to accuse him repeatedly.

Then the high priest said, “Are these things true?” ¹ 

I will never ¹  declare that you three ²  are in the right; until I die, I will not set aside my integrity!

When you examine ¹  him yourself, you will be able to learn from him ²  about all these things we are accusing him of doing.” ³ 

They repay my love with accusations, ¹  but I continue to pray. ² 

Do not accuse ¹  anyone ²  without legitimate cause, ³  if he has not treated you wrongly.

Jesus ¹  also said to the disciples, “There was a rich man who was informed of accusations ²  that his manager ³  was wasting ⁴  his assets.

But if the accusation is true and the young woman was not a virgin,

For you write down ¹  bitter things against me and cause me to inherit the sins of my youth. ² 

“Does a wise man answer with blustery knowledge, ¹  or fill his belly ²  with the east wind? ³ 

For they do not try to make peace with others, ¹  but plan ways to deceive those who are unsuspecting. ² 

They repay me evil for the good I have done; though I have tried to do good to them, they hurl accusations at me. ¹ 

So Pilate asked him again, ¹  “Have you nothing to say? See how many charges they are bringing against you!”

So the chief priests and the most prominent men ¹  of the Jews brought formal charges ²  against Paul to him.
