then you scare me ¹  with dreams and terrify ²  me with ³  visions,

chase them with your gale winds, and terrify ¹  them with your windstorm.

Let darkness and the deepest shadow ¹  claim it; ²  let a cloud settle on it; let whatever blackens the day ³  terrify it!

Would not his splendor ¹  terrify ²  you and the fear he inspires ³  fall on you?

Remove ¹  your hand ²  far from me and stop making me afraid with your terror. ³ 

Distress and anguish ¹  terrify him; they prevail against him like a king ready to launch an attack, ² 

who ¹  would take his ²  rod ³  away from me so that his terror ⁴  would not make me afraid.

I do not want to seem as though I am trying to terrify you with my letters,

They say, “Let’s attack Judah, terrorize it, and conquer it. ¹  Then we’ll set up the son of Tabeel as its king.” ² 

Then he gives a revelation ¹  to people, and terrifies them with warnings, ² 

The Lord will terrify them, ¹  for ²  he will weaken ³  all the gods of the earth. All the distant nations will worship the Lord in their own lands. ⁴
