Now the Jewish feast of Tabernacles ¹  was near. ² 

This will be the punishment of Egypt and of all nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

“Tell the Israelites, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Temporary Shelters ¹  for seven days to the Lord.

You must celebrate the Festival of Temporary Shelters ¹  for seven days, at the time of the grain and grape harvest. ² 

‘How ¹  beautiful are your tents, O Jacob, and your dwelling places, O Israel!

Then all who survive from all the nations that came to attack Jerusalem will go up annually to worship the King, the Lord who rules over all, and to observe the Feast of Tabernacles. ¹ 

He ¹  commanded them: “At the end of seven years, at the appointed time of the cancellation of debts, ²  at the Feast of Temporary Shelters, ³ 

They observed the Festival of Temporary Shelters ¹  as required ²  and offered the proper number of ³  daily burnt offerings according to the requirement for each day.

If the Egyptians will not do so, they will get no rain – instead there will be the kind of plague which the Lord inflicts on any nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

So ¹  Peter said ²  to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make ³  three shelters ⁴  – one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

So ¹  Peter said to Jesus, ²  “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three shelters ³  – one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

The river’s channels bring joy to the city of God, ¹  the special, holy dwelling place of ²  the sovereign One. ³

Three times a year all your males must appear before the Lord your God in the place he chooses for the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Temporary Shelters; and they must not appear before him ¹  empty-handed.

He observed the daily requirements for sacrifices that Moses had specified for Sabbaths, new moon festivals, and the three annual celebrations – the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Temporary Shelters. ¹ 

It includes ¹  the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, ² 

Let us go to his dwelling place! Let us worship ¹  before his footstool!

“I am the Lord your God ¹  who brought you ²  out of Egypt; I will make you live in tents again as in the days of old. ³ 

if ¹  iniquity is in your hand – put it far away, ²  and do not let evil reside in your tents.

For the company of the godless is barren, ¹  and fire ²  consumes the tents of those who accept bribes. ³
