“Select for yourselves twelve men from the people, one per tribe.

you must then designate some towns as towns of refuge for you, to which a person who has killed someone unintentionally may flee.

But carefully select from among you, brothers, ¹  seven ²  men who are well-attested, ³  full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge ⁴  of this necessary task. ⁵ 

Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel, and told them, “Go and select ¹  for yourselves a lamb or young goat ²  for your families, and kill the Passover animals. ³ 

“So now Pharaoh should look ¹  for a wise and discerning man ²  and give him authority ³  over all the land of Egypt.

Now select for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one per tribe.

pick the best and most capable ¹  of your master’s sons, place him on his father’s throne, and defend ²  your master’s dynasty.”

He took six hundred select ¹  chariots, and all the rest of the chariots of Egypt, ²  and officers ³  on all of them.

Select wise and practical ¹  men, those known among your tribes, whom I may appoint as your leaders.”

But you choose ¹  from the people capable men, ²  God-fearing, ³  men of truth, ⁴  those who hate bribes, ⁵  and put them over the people ⁶  as rulers ⁷  of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

we have unanimously ¹  decided ²  to choose men to send to you along with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul,

God says, ¹  “At the appointed times, ²  I judge ³  fairly.

And I will choose some of them as priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

you must select without fail ¹  a king whom the Lord your God chooses. From among your fellow citizens ²  you must appoint a king – you may not designate a foreigner who is not one of your fellow Israelites. ³ 

So they said to one another, ¹  “Let’s appoint ²  a leader ³  and return ⁴  to Egypt.”

“Have the Israelites select ¹  the cities of refuge ²  that I told you about through Moses.

Simeon ¹  has explained ²  how God first concerned himself ³  to select ⁴  from among the Gentiles ⁵  a people for his name.

For God did not destine us for wrath ¹  but for gaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

and also seven ¹  of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, ²  to preserve their offspring ³  on the face of the earth.

Your lamb must be ¹  perfect, ²  a male, one year old; ³  you may take ⁴  it from the sheep or from the goats.
