I rashly declared, ¹  “All men are liars.”

influenced by the hypocrisy of liars ¹  whose consciences are seared. ² 

A certain one of them, in fact, one of their own prophets, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” ¹ 

sexually immoral people, practicing homosexuals, ¹  kidnappers, liars, perjurers – in fact, for any who live contrary to sound teaching.

who frustrates the omens of the empty talkers ¹  and humiliates ²  the omen readers, who overturns the counsel of the wise men ³  and makes their advice ⁴  seem foolish,

Destructive forces will come against her false prophets; ¹  they will be shown to be fools! ²  Destructive forces will come against her soldiers; they will be filled with terror! ³ 

But the king ¹  will rejoice in God; everyone who takes oaths in his name ²  will boast, for the mouths of those who speak lies will be shut up. ³ 

But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, ¹  idol worshipers, ²  and all those who lie, their place ³  will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. ⁴  That ⁵  is the second death.”

I said, ¹  “O Lord, rescue me ²  from those who lie with their lips ³  and those who deceive with their tongue. ⁴ 

One who acts wickedly ¹  pays attention to evil counsel; ²  a liar listens ³  to a malicious tongue. ⁴ 

Deceitful people will not live in my palace. ¹  Liars will not be welcome in my presence. ² 

At whom are you laughing? At whom are you opening your mouth and sticking out your tongue? You are the children of rebels, the offspring of liars, ¹ 

‘I know your works as well as your ¹  labor and steadfast endurance, and that you cannot tolerate ²  evil. You have even put to the test ³  those who refer to themselves as apostles (but are not), and have discovered that they are false.

I do not associate ¹  with deceitful men, or consort ²  with those who are dishonest. ³ 

to deliver ¹  you from the way of the wicked, ²  from those ³  speaking perversity, ⁴ 

A worthless and wicked person ¹  walks around saying perverse ²  things; ³ 

The faithful witness ¹  tells what is right, ²  but a false witness ³  speaks ⁴  deceit.

Keen insight ¹  wins ²  favor, but the conduct ³  of the unfaithful is harsh. ⁴ 

A lying tongue ¹  hates those crushed by it, and a flattering mouth works ruin. ² 

If a ruler listens to ¹  lies, ²  all his ministers ³  will be wicked. ⁴
