My eyes anticipate the nighttime hours, so that I can meditate on your word.

The Lord had said to Moses, ¹ 

you young men and young women, you elderly, along with you children!

But now, put off all such things ¹  as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

Praise him, O sun and moon! Praise him, all you shiny stars! ¹ 

Praise him, O highest heaven, and you waters above the sky! ¹ 

Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea creatures and all you ocean depths,

O fire and hail, snow and clouds, ¹  O stormy wind that carries out his orders, ² 

you mountains and all you hills, you fruit trees and all you cedars,

you animals and all you cattle, you creeping things and birds,

you kings of the earth and all you nations, you princes and all you leaders ¹  on the earth,

People will reside again ¹  in his shade; they will plant and harvest grain in abundance. ²  They will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.

Jonathan replied, “All right! ¹  We’ll go over to these men and fight them.

Then the king told the woman, “Go to your home. I will give instructions concerning your situation.” ¹
