When ¹  they have completed their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will make war on them and conquer ²  them and kill them.

“Here is this pile of stones and this pillar I have set up between me and you,” Laban said to Jacob. ¹ 

Here I am. Bring a charge against me before the Lord and before his chosen king. ¹  Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I wronged? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I taken a bribe so that I would overlook something? Tell me, ²  and I will return it to you!”

He would certainly rebuke ¹  you if you secretly ²  showed partiality!

The heavens reveal his iniquity; the earth rises up against him.

Have you never questioned those who travel the roads? Do you not recognize their accounts ¹  –

Therefore I despise myself, ¹  and I repent in dust and ashes!

The mountains will bring news of peace to the people, and the hills will announce justice. ¹ 

Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes – you will see the wicked paid back. ¹ 

Therefore you must wait patiently ¹  for me,” says the Lord, “for the day when I attack and take plunder. ²  I have decided ³  to gather nations together and assemble kingdoms, so I can pour out my fury on them – all my raging anger. For ⁴  the whole earth will be consumed by my fiery anger.

By saying this you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

But they did not find anything, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally ¹  two came forward

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

The one who has accepted his testimony has confirmed clearly that God is truthful. ¹ 

This Jesus God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it. ¹ 

as both the high priest and the whole council of elders ¹  can testify about me. From them ²  I also received ³  letters to the brothers in Damascus, and I was on my way ⁴  to make arrests there and bring ⁵  the prisoners ⁶  to Jerusalem ⁷  to be punished.

just as the testimony about Christ has been confirmed among you –

I assure you ¹  that, before God, I am not lying about what I am writing to you! ² 

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.) ¹ 

he said to them, “Keep in mind all the words I am solemnly proclaiming to you today; you must command your children to observe carefully all the words of this law.
