These curses ¹  will be a perpetual sign and wonder with reference to you and your descendants. ² 

Solomon’s son was Rehoboam, followed by Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

All these had taken foreign wives, and some of them also had children by these women. ¹ 

But an empty man will become wise, when a wild donkey’s colt is born a human being. ¹ 

Do you count the months they must fulfill, and do you know the time they give birth? ¹ 

Their young grow strong, and grow up in the open; ¹  they go off, and do not return to them.

The descendants of his servants will inherit it, and those who are loyal to him ¹  will live in it. ² 

He struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their reproductive power ¹  in the tents of Ham.

‘I will give you an eternal dynasty ¹  and establish your throne throughout future generations.’” ²  (Selah)

May his descendants ¹  be cut off! ²  May the memory of them be wiped out by the time the next generation arrives! ³ 

Be assured that ¹  the evil person will certainly be punished, ²  but the descendants of the righteous ³  will not suffer unjust judgment. ⁴ 

From the descendants ¹  of this man ²  God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised. ³ 

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David; ¹  such is my gospel, ² 

For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants.

But if you do not experience discipline, ¹  something all sons ²  have shared in, then you are illegitimate and are not sons.

Now swear to me right here in God’s name ¹  that you will not deceive me, my children, or my descendants. ²  Show me, and the land ³  where you are staying, ⁴  the same loyalty ⁵  that I have shown you.” ⁶ 

But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He too will become a nation and he too will become great. In spite of this, his younger brother will be even greater and his descendants will become a multitude ¹  of nations.”

When Pharaoh stubbornly refused ¹  to release us, the Lord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of people to the firstborn of animals. ²  That is why I am sacrificing ³  to the Lord the first male offspring of every womb, but all my firstborn sons I redeem.’

“You are to say to the Israelites, ‘Any man from the Israelites or from the foreigners who reside in Israel ¹  who gives any of his children ²  to Molech ³  must be put to death; the people of the land must pelt him with stones. ⁴
