Honest scales and balances ¹  are from the Lord; all the weights ²  in the bag are his handiwork.

For what benefit is it for a person ¹  to gain the whole world, yet ²  forfeit his life?

The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.

John replied, ¹  “No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.

This ¹  is the bread that has come down from heaven, so that a person ²  may eat from it and not die.

and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. ¹  Do you believe this?”

“Go and stand in the temple courts ¹  and proclaim ²  to the people all the words of this life.”

who will speak a message ¹  to you by which you and your entire household will be saved.’

and he made no distinction ¹  between them and us, cleansing ²  their hearts by faith.

Then ¹  they spoke the word of the Lord ²  to him, along with all those who were in his house.

So he stayed there ¹  a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. ² 

So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister, ¹  for whom Christ died, is destroyed. ² 

But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned with the world.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment. ¹ 

For if what was made ineffective ¹  came with ²  glory, how much more has what remains ³  come in glory!

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is blessed forever, knows I am not lying.

For where there is a will, the death of the one who made it must be proven. ¹
