But carefully obey the commands and instructions Moses the Lord’s servant gave you. Love ¹  the Lord your God, follow all his instructions, ²  obey ³  his commands, be loyal to him, ⁴  and serve him with all your heart and being!” ⁵ 

But they did not obey ¹  their leaders. Instead they prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped ²  them. They quickly turned aside from the path ³  their ancestors ⁴  had walked. Their ancestors had obeyed the Lord’s commands, but they did not. ⁵ 

The king stood by the pillar and renewed ¹  the covenant before the Lord, agreeing to follow ²  the Lord and to obey his commandments, laws, and rules with all his heart and being, ³  by carrying out the terms ⁴  of this covenant recorded on this scroll. All the people agreed to keep the covenant. ⁵ 

Now pay attention to all the commandments ¹  I am giving ²  you today, so that you may be strong enough to enter and possess the land where you are headed, ³ 

For if you carefully observe all of these commandments ¹  I am giving you ²  and love the Lord your God, live according to his standards, ³  and remain loyal to him,

“I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned away from me and has not done what I told him to do.” Samuel became angry and he cried out to the Lord all that night.

Now ¹  one of the experts in the law ²  came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus ³  answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”

Praise the Lord, you angels of his, you powerful warriors who carry out his decrees and obey his orders! ¹ 

until the day he was taken up to heaven, ¹  after he had given orders ²  by ³  the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, he should acknowledge that what I write to you is the Lord’s command.

Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access ¹  to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.

You are to put into the ark the testimony ¹  that I will give to you.

and then you are careful to observe all these commandments ¹  I am giving ²  you today (namely, to love the Lord your God and to always walk in his ways), then you must add three more cities ³  to these three.

You demand that your precepts be carefully kept. ¹ 

I will meditate on ¹  your precepts and focus ²  on your behavior. ³ 

Look, I long for your precepts. Revive me with your deliverance! ¹ 

I will be secure, ¹  for I seek your precepts.

This ¹  has been my practice, for I observe your precepts.

I belong to you. Deliver me! For I seek your precepts.

I am more discerning than those older than I, for I observe your precepts.
