His servants advised ¹  him, “A young virgin must be found for our master, the king, ²  to take care of the king’s needs ³  and serve as his nurse. She can also sleep with you ⁴  and keep our master, the king, warm.” ⁵ 

He ¹  draws near to the place of corruption, and his life to the messengers of death. ² 

Offer the prescribed sacrifices ¹  and trust in the Lord! ² 

May we experience your faithfulness, O Lord, ¹  for ²  we wait for you.

As for me, I will wait continually, and will continue to praise you. ¹ 

Turn back toward us, O Lord! How long must this suffering last? ¹  Have pity on your servants! ² 

In the middle of the night I arise ¹  to thank you for your just regulations.

I am up before dawn crying for help. I find hope in your word.

Let him bury his face in the dust; ¹  perhaps there is hope.

“Are you the one who is to come, ¹  or should we look for another?”

So ¹  when the devil ²  had completed every temptation, he departed from him until a more opportune time. ³ 

Jesus said to her, “I, the one speaking to you, am he.”

Now when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, ¹ 

For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God.

If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach;

Indeed, the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,

where he is now waiting ¹  until his enemies are made a footstool for his feet. ² 

Go to Pharaoh in the morning when ¹  he goes out to the water. Position yourself ²  to meet him by the edge of the Nile, ³  and take ⁴  in your hand the staff ⁵  that was turned into a snake.

Then she will remain ¹  thirty-three days in blood purity. ²  She must not touch anything holy and she must not enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled. ³ 

If she bears a female child, she will be impure fourteen days as during her menstrual flow, and she will remain sixty-six days in ¹  blood purity. ²
