In the wilderness they had an insatiable craving ¹  for meat; ²  they challenged God ³  in the desert.

I will give you sincere thanks, ¹  when I learn your just regulations.

Like a muddied ¹  spring and a polluted ²  well, so is a righteous person who gives way ³  before the wicked.

The nations run away when they hear a loud noise; ¹  the nations scatter when you spring into action! ² 

They do one act of violence after another, and one deceitful thing after another. ¹  They refuse to pay attention to me,” ²  says the Lord.

So they hurried off and located Mary and Joseph, and found the baby lying in a manger. ¹ 

Which of these three do you think became a neighbor ¹  to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”

Then ¹  after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.

On the next day Jesus ¹  wanted to set out for Galilee. ²  He ³  found Philip and said ⁴  to him, “Follow me.”

Because they had heard that Jesus ¹  had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

And they paid close attention to him because he had amazed them for a long time with his magic.

He was speaking and debating ¹  with the Greek-speaking Jews, ²  but they were trying to kill him.

When ¹  they heard ²  this they became enraged ³  and began to shout, ⁴  “Great is Artemis ⁵  of the Ephesians!”

For I decided to be concerned about nothing ¹  among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.

For perhaps it was for this reason that he was separated from you for a little while, so that you would have him back eternally, ¹ 

Then Absalom happened to come across David’s men. Now as Absalom was riding on his ¹  mule, it ²  went under the branches of a large oak tree. His head got caught in the oak and he was suspended in midair, ³  while the mule he had been riding kept going.

So Abraham hurried into the tent and said to Sarah, “Quick! Take ¹  three measures ²  of fine flour, knead it, and make bread.” ³ 

All the Israelites ¹  who were around them fled at their cry, ²  for they said, “What if ³  the earth swallows us too?”

But to this very day the Lord has not given you an understanding mind, perceptive eyes, or discerning ears! ¹
