Everyone ¹  ate and was satisfied, and they picked up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.

They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her.” ¹ 

They all ate and were satisfied, and what was left over ¹  was picked up – twelve baskets of broken pieces.

So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, ¹  but is not rich toward God.”

Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,” ¹  and they did.

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of joy with your presence.’ ¹ 

And do not get drunk with wine, which ¹  is debauchery, ²  but be filled by the Spirit, ³ 

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches ¹  in Christ Jesus.

Moses said, “This is what ¹  the Lord has commanded: ‘Fill an omer with it to be kept ²  for generations to come, ³  so that they may see ⁴  the food I fed you in the desert when I brought you out from the land of Egypt.’”

For after I have brought them ¹  to the land I promised to their ²  ancestors – one flowing with milk and honey – and they ³  eat their fill ⁴  and become fat, then they ⁵  will turn to other gods and worship them; they will reject me and break my covenant.

Lord, use your power to deliver me from these murderers, ¹  from the murderers of this world! ²  They enjoy prosperity; ³  you overwhelm them with the riches they desire. ⁴  They have many children, and leave their wealth to their offspring. ⁵ 

When she had done so, ¹  she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have drunk as much as they want.”

She quickly emptied ¹  her jug into the watering trough and ran back to the well to draw more water until she had drawn enough for all his camels.

“Do not hold back offerings from your granaries or your vats. ¹  You must give me the firstborn of your sons.

You are to set in it a setting for stones, four rows of stones, a row with a ruby, a topaz, and a beryl – the first row;

“How long must I bear ¹  with this evil congregation ²  that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.

Then Moses raised his hand, and struck the rock twice with his staff. And water came out abundantly. So the community drank, and their beasts drank too.

While ¹  you are still there speaking to the king, I will arrive ²  and verify your report.” ³ 

If I lie down, I say, ¹  ‘When will I arise?’, and the night stretches on ²  and I toss and turn restlessly ³  until the day dawns.

Then I will ¹  tell about all your praiseworthy acts; ²  in the gates of Daughter Zion ³  I will rejoice because of your deliverance.” ⁴
