Moreover, ¹  you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, nor given us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Do you think you can blind ²  these men? We will not come up.”

For I was terrified at the Lord’s intense anger ¹  that threatened to destroy you. But he ²  listened to me this time as well.

David was wrapped in a linen robe, as were all the Levites carrying the ark, the musicians, and Kenaniah the supervisor of transport and the musicians; ¹  David also wore a linen ephod. ²

Can anyone catch it by its eyes, ¹  or pierce its nose with a snare? ² 

Can you put a cord through its nose, or pierce its jaw with a hook?

I have been dependent on you since birth; ¹  from the time I came out of my mother’s womb you have been my God. ² 

O ¹  my son, O son of my womb, O son ²  of my vows,

With many other words he testified ¹  and exhorted them saying, “Save yourselves from this perverse ²  generation!”

testifying ¹  to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus. ² 

Then ¹  he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest.
