He said to it, ¹  “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it. ² 

Now ¹  as Jesus ²  was going out of the temple courts, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, look at these tremendous stones and buildings!” ³ 

Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

So ¹  the disciples left, went ²  into the city, and found things just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

But go, tell his disciples, even Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.”

But ¹  the Pharisees ²  and their experts in the law ³  complained ⁴  to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” ⁵ 

Soon ¹  afterward ²  Jesus ³  went to a town ⁴  called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him.

Once ¹  when Jesus ²  was praying ³  by himself, and his disciples were nearby, he asked them, ⁴  “Who do the crowds say that I am?” ⁵ 

Then ¹  they were all astonished at the mighty power ²  of God.But while the entire crowd ³  was amazed at everything Jesus ⁴  was doing, he said to his disciples,

Jesus ¹  said to his disciples, “Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe ²  to the one through whom they come!

Now people ¹  were even bringing their babies ²  to him for him to touch. ³  But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them. ⁴ 

Now ¹  when he approached Bethphage ²  and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, ³  he sent two of the disciples,

and tell the owner of the house, ¹  ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs, ¹  in Cana ²  of Galilee. In this way he revealed ³  his glory, and his disciples believed in him. ⁴ 

After this he went down to Capernaum ¹  with his mother and brothers ²  and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

After this, ¹  Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

When they were all satisfied, Jesus ¹  said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces that are left over, so that nothing is wasted.”

Then many of his disciples, when they heard these things, ¹  said, “This is a difficult ²  saying! ³  Who can understand it?” ⁴ 

When Jesus was aware ¹  that his disciples were complaining ²  about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended? ³ 

Then Jesus said to those Judeans ¹  who had believed him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, ²  you are really ³  my disciples
