Then the Levites quieted all the people saying, “Be quiet, for this day is holy. Do not grieve.”

O God, you have taught me since I was young, and I am still declaring ¹  your amazing deeds.

As for me, I will continually tell what you have done; ¹  I will sing praises to the God of Jacob!

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

The one who goes about slandering others ¹  reveals ²  secrets, but the one who is trustworthy ³  conceals a matter.

The one who forgives ¹  an offense seeks ²  love, but whoever repeats a matter separates close friends. ³ 

So now, residents of Jerusalem, ¹  people ²  of Judah, you decide between me and my vineyard!

Then I said, “O sovereign Lord! They are saying of me, ‘Does he not simply speak in eloquent figures of speech?’”

therefore you will no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the sovereign Lord.

Ephraim will be ruined in the day of judgment! ¹  What I am declaring ²  to the tribes of Israel will certainly take place! ³ 

Certainly the sovereign Lord does nothing without first revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.

But I say to you, love your enemy and ¹  pray for those who persecute you,

To the one who had said this, Jesus ¹  replied, ²  “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”

He ¹  told them many things in parables, ²  saying: “Listen! ³  A sower went out to sow. ⁴ 

So ¹  he answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”

Then ¹  Jesus ²  told them a parable to show them they should always ³  pray and not lose heart. ⁴ 

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people, ¹ 

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  if anyone obeys ²  my teaching, ³  he will never see death.” ⁴ 

Jesus told them this parable, ¹  but they ²  did not understand ³  what he was saying to them.
