The appearance of the wheels and their construction ¹  was like gleaming jasper, ²  and all four wheels looked alike. Their structure was like a wheel within a wheel. ³ 

I saw an amber glow ¹  like a fire enclosed all around ²  from his waist up. From his waist down I saw something that looked like fire. There was a brilliant light around it,

As I watched, I noticed ¹  a form that appeared to be a man. ²  From his waist downward was something like fire, ³  and from his waist upward something like a brightness, ⁴  like an amber glow. ⁵ 

He answered, “But I see four men, untied and walking around in the midst of the fire! No harm has come to them! And the appearance of the fourth is like that of a god!” ¹ 

Then ¹  he said to them, “Suppose one of you ²  has a friend, and you go to him ³  at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, ⁴ 

and in front of the throne was something like a sea of glass, like crystal. ¹  In ²  the middle of the throne ³  and around the throne were four living creatures ⁴  full of eyes in front and in back.

Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘About midnight ¹  I will go throughout Egypt, ² 

Make for them linen undergarments to cover their naked bodies; ¹  they must cover ²  from the waist to the thighs.

The Lord spoke face to face with you at the mountain, from the middle of the fire.

How the warriors have fallen in the midst of battle! Jonathan lies slain on your high places!

He prepared the inner sanctuary inside the temple so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord could be placed there.

For all of them, ¹  the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.

I will declare your name to my countrymen! ¹  In the middle of the assembly I will praise you!

During the evening, morning, and noontime I will lament and moan, ¹  and he will hear ²  me. ³ 

Singers walk in front; musicians follow playing their stringed instruments, ¹  in the midst of young women playing tambourines. ² 

Your enemies roar ¹  in the middle of your sanctuary; ²  they set up their battle flags. ³ 

I will thank the Lord profusely, ¹  in the middle of a crowd ²  I will praise him,

at the head of the noisy ¹  streets she calls, in the entrances of the gates in the city ²  she utters her words: ³ 

The sluggard says, “There is a lion ¹  outside! I will be killed in the middle of the streets!” ² 

And you will be like one who lies down in the midst ¹  of the sea, and like one who lies down on the top of the rigging. ²
