But when the signal, a pillar of smoke, began to rise up from the city, the Benjaminites turned around and saw the whole city going up in a cloud of smoke that rose high into the sky. ¹ 

Then ¹  he began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard. ²  He put a fence around it, dug a pit for its winepress, and built a watchtower. Then ³  he leased it to tenant farmers ⁴  and went on a journey.

Then ¹  the chief priests began to accuse him repeatedly.

When ¹  John’s messengers had gone, Jesus ²  began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness ³  to see? A reed shaken by the wind? ⁴ 

As ¹  she stood ²  behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. She ³  wiped them with her hair, ⁴  kissed ⁵  them, ⁶  and anointed ⁷  them with the perfumed oil.

He began to speak out fearlessly ¹  in the synagogue, ²  but when Priscilla and Aquila ³  heard him, they took him aside ⁴  and explained the way of God to him more accurately.

In the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijah ¹  became king over Judah.

Ahaziah had become king over Judah in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab.

Cush was the father of Nimrod, who established himself as a mighty warrior on earth. ¹ 

Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned for fifty-five years in Jerusalem. ¹

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem. ¹ 

Have you ever in your life ¹  commanded the morning, or made the dawn know ²  its place,

Then ¹  they went to Capernaum. ²  When the Sabbath came, ³  Jesus ⁴  went into the synagogue ⁵  and began to teach.

So ¹  Judas ²  agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus ³  when no crowd was present. ⁴ 

Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus ¹  began complaining about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,”

So Philip started speaking, ¹  and beginning with this scripture ²  proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.

you know what happened throughout Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John announced: ¹ 

When ¹  they heard ²  this they became enraged ³  and began to shout, ⁴  “Great is Artemis ⁵  of the Ephesians!”

So ¹  I began weeping bitterly ²  because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
