These sayings also are from the wise: To show partiality ¹  in judgment is terrible: ² 

To show partiality ¹  is terrible, ²  for a person will transgress over the smallest piece of bread. ³ 

I made all of these other people drink it: Pharaoh, king of Egypt; ¹  his attendants, his officials, his people,

(Make the chain, ¹  because the land is full of murder ²  and the city is full of violence.)

Moreover, they have done this to me: In the very same day ¹  they desecrated my sanctuary and profaned my Sabbaths.

How awful that day will be! ¹  For the day of the Lord is near; it will come as destruction from the Divine Destroyer. ² 

Woe to the city guilty of bloodshed! ¹  She is full of lies; ²  she is filled with plunder; ³  she has hoarded her spoil! ⁴ 

“You have criticized me sharply,” ¹  says the Lord, “but you ask, ‘How have we criticized you?’

They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised.” And they became greatly distressed.

Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit, ¹  and he cried out, ² 

Now ¹  in the synagogue ²  there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean ³  demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

Woe to you! You build ¹  the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors ²  killed.

I have a baptism ¹  to undergo, ²  and how distressed I am until it is finished!

So Simon Peter ¹  gestured to this disciple ²  to ask Jesus ³  who it was he was referring to. ⁴ 

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury ¹  of fire that will consume God’s enemies. ² 

But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

Come now, you rich! Weep and cry aloud ¹  over the miseries that are coming on you.

And who is like your people, Israel, a unique nation ¹  in the earth? Their God ²  went to claim ³  a nation for himself! You made a name for yourself by doing great and awesome deeds ⁴  when you drove out ⁵  nations before your people whom you had delivered from the Egyptian empire and its gods. ⁶ 

that sends messengers by sea, who glide over the water’s surface in boats made of papyrus. Go, you swift messengers, to a nation of tall, smooth-skinned people, ¹  to a people that are feared far and wide, ²  to a nation strong and victorious, ³  whose land rivers divide. ⁴ 

At that time tribute will be brought to the Lord who commands armies, by a people that are tall and smooth-skinned, a people that are feared far and wide, a nation strong and victorious, whose land rivers divide. ¹  The tribute ²  will be brought to the place where the Lord who commands armies has chosen to reside, on Mount Zion. ³
