and as they were leaving they said to one another, ¹  “This man is not doing anything deserving ²  death or imprisonment.”

the women ¹  should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak. ²  Rather, let them be in submission, as in fact the law says.

They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently. ¹ 

Abram bowed down with his face to the ground, ¹  and God said to him, ² 

Then God went up from the place ¹  where he spoke with him.

But he replied, ¹  “You’re talking like one of the godless ²  women would do! Should we receive ³  what is good from God, and not also ⁴  receive ⁵  what is evil?” ⁶  In all this Job did not sin by what he said. ⁷ 

“Refrain from talking ¹  with me so that ²  I may speak; then let come to me ³  what may. ⁴ 

If you yourselves have all seen this, Why in the world ¹  do you continue this meaningless talk? ² 

See now, I have opened ¹  my mouth; my tongue in my mouth has spoken. ² 

I ¹  will reply to you, ²  and to your friends with you.

For in truth, my words are not false; it is one complete ¹  in knowledge who is with you.

“Who is this ¹  who darkens counsel ²  with words without knowledge?

They carefully plot ¹  against your people, and make plans to harm ²  the ones you cherish. ³ 

People say wonderful things about you, ¹  O city of God. (Selah)

They grumbled in their tents; ¹  they did not obey ²  the Lord.

“To you, O people, ¹  I call out, and my voice calls ²  to all mankind. ³ 

In all hard work ¹  there is profit, but merely talking about it ²  only brings ³  poverty. ⁴ 

The one who goes about gossiping ¹  reveals secrets; therefore do not associate ²  with someone who is always opening his mouth. ³ 

for their hearts contemplate violence, and their lips speak harm. ¹ 

Then I heard a holy one ¹  speaking. Another holy one said to the one who was speaking, “To what period of time does the vision pertain – this vision concerning the daily sacrifice and the destructive act of rebellion and the giving over of both the sanctuary and army to be trampled?”
