But you must not redeem the firstborn of a cow or a sheep or a goat; they are holy. You must splash ¹  their blood on the altar and burn their fat for an offering made by fire for a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Let them bring us two bulls. Let them choose one of the bulls for themselves, cut it up into pieces, and place it on the wood. But they must not set it on fire. I will do the same to the other bull and place it on the wood. But I will not set it on fire.

Do I eat the flesh of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats? ¹ 

I was ignorant ¹  and lacked insight; ²  I was as senseless as an animal before you. ³ 

They made an image of a calf at Horeb, and worshiped a metal idol.

He must do with the rest of the bull just as he did with the bull of the sin offering; this is what he must do with it. ¹  So the priest will make atonement ²  on their behalf and they will be forgiven. ³ 

He ¹  must bring the rest of the bull outside the camp ²  and burn it just as he burned the first bull – it is the sin offering of the assembly.

“Aaron is to present the sin offering bull which is for himself, and he is to make atonement on behalf of himself and his household. He is to slaughter the sin offering bull which is for himself,

You must set apart ¹  for the Lord your God every firstborn male born to your herds and flocks. You must not work the firstborn of your bulls or shear the firstborn of your flocks.

As for Nob, the city of the priests, he struck down with the sword men and women, children and infants, oxen, donkeys, and sheep – all with the sword.

A wolf will reside ¹  with a lamb, and a leopard will lie down with a young goat; an ox and a young lion will graze together, ²  as a small child leads them along.

Joseph is a fruitful bough, ¹  a fruitful bough near a spring whose branches ²  climb over the wall.

You are to kill the bull before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting

And the Lord sent a plague on the people because they had made the calf ¹  – the one Aaron made. ² 

So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the sin offering calf which was for himself.
