I solemnly make this oath ¹  – what I say is true and reliable: ²  ‘Surely every knee will bow to me, every tongue will solemnly affirm; ³ 

He says, “I will build myself a large palace with spacious upper rooms.” He cuts windows in its walls, panels it ¹  with cedar, and paints its rooms red. ² 

For I solemnly swear,” ¹  says the Lord, “that Bozrah ²  will become a pile of ruins. It will become an object of horror and ridicule, an example to be used in curses. ³  All the towns around it will lie in ruins forever.”

therefore, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, I will deal with you according to your anger, and according to your envy, by which you acted spitefully against them. I will reveal myself to them when I judge you.

Look at my hands and my feet; it’s me! ¹  Touch me and see; a ghost ²  does not have flesh and bones like you see I have.”

I am not able to bear this entire people alone, ¹  because it ²  is too heavy for me!

But Peter helped him up, ¹  saying, “Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.” ² 

I find delight ¹  in your statutes; I do not forget your instructions. ² 

I will find delight in your commands, which I love.

Then I said, ¹  “There is no cure ²  for my grief! I am sick at heart!

and say to them: “‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: On the day I chose Israel I swore ¹  to the descendants ²  of the house of Jacob and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt. I swore ³  to them, “I am the Lord your God.”

I have both seen and testified that this man is the Chosen One of God.” ¹ 

For I consider myself not at all inferior to those “super-apostles.” ¹ 

I will walk in hostile rage against you ¹  and I myself will also discipline you seven times on account of your sins.

I will personally hold responsible ¹  anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet ²  speaks in my name.

I gave myself to the work on this wall, without even purchasing ¹  a field. All my associates were gathered there for the work.

When they were sick, I wore sackcloth, ¹  and refrained from eating food. ²  (If I am lying, may my prayers go unanswered!) ³ 

I thought to myself, ¹  “Come now, ²  I will try ³  self-indulgent pleasure ⁴  to see ⁵  if it is worthwhile.” ⁶  But I found ⁷  that it also is futile. ⁸ 

That is why ¹  I did not presume ²  to come to you. Instead, say the word, and my servant must be healed. ³ 

I did not recognize ¹  him, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.” ²
