All his days ¹  the wicked man suffers torment, ²  throughout the number of the years that ³  are stored up for the tyrant. ⁴ 

But the righteous man holds to his way, and the one with clean hands grows stronger. ¹ 

But God ¹  drags off the mighty by his power; when God ²  rises up against him, he has no faith in his life. ³ 

For he repays a person for his work, ¹  and according to the conduct of a person, he causes the consequences to find him. ² 

Therefore, he knows their deeds, he overthrows them ¹  in the night ²  and they are crushed.

God is a just judge; he is angry throughout the day. ¹ 

A psalm of David. Lord, who may be a guest in your home? ²  Who may live on your holy hill? ³ 

A horse disappoints those who trust in it for victory; ¹  despite its great strength, it cannot deliver.

Surely ¹  those favored by the Lord ²  will possess the land, but those rejected ³  by him will be wiped out. ⁴ 

He pronounces this blessing on himself while he is alive: “May men praise you, for you have done well!”

He humbles princes; ¹  the kings of the earth regard him as awesome. ² 

Direct my steps by your word! ¹  Do not let any sin dominate me!

which cannot fill the reaper’s hand, or the lap of the one who gathers the grain!

The way of the wicked is like gloomy darkness; ¹  they do not know what causes them to stumble. ² 

The beginning ¹  of wisdom is to fear the Lord, ²  and acknowledging ³  the Holy One ⁴  is understanding.

The one who is lazy ¹  becomes poor, ²  but the one who works diligently ³  becomes wealthy. ⁴ 

True ¹  righteousness leads to ²  life, but the one who pursues evil pursues it ³  to his own death. ⁴ 

A good person obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord ¹  condemns a person with wicked schemes. ² 

Wealth gained quickly ¹  will dwindle away, ²  but the one who gathers it little by little ³  will become rich. ⁴ 

The backslider ¹  will be paid back ²  from his own ways, but a good person will be rewarded ³  for his.
