The appetite ¹  of the sluggard ²  craves ³  but gets nothing, but the desire of the diligent will be abundantly satisfied. ⁴ 

The backslider ¹  will be paid back ²  from his own ways, but a good person will be rewarded ³  for his.

And ¹  a voice from heaven said, ²  “This is my one dear Son; ³  in him ⁴  I take great delight.” ⁵ 

You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered ¹  from thorns or figs from thistles, are they? ² 

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son; ¹  in you I take great delight.” ² 

And when the grain is ripe, he sends in the sickle ¹  because the harvest has come.” ² 

He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.

In the beginning ¹  was the Word, and the Word was with God, ²  and the Word was fully God. ³ 

Then Jesus, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him, ¹  came and asked them, “Who are you looking for?” ² 

Therefore he also says in another psalm, ¹  ‘You will not permit your Holy One ²  to experience ³  decay.’ ⁴ 

for the Lord will execute his sentence on the earth completely and quickly.” ¹ 

Listen, ¹  I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, ²  but we will all be changed –

also to submit to people like this, and to everyone who cooperates in the work and labors hard.

For they refreshed my spirit and yours. So then, recognize people like this.

Thus we are full of courage and would prefer to be away ¹  from the body and at home with the Lord.

My children – I am again undergoing birth pains until Christ is formed in you! ¹ 

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches ¹  in Christ Jesus.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord ¹  will come in the same way as a thief in the night. ² 

teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

For you need endurance in order to do God’s will and so receive what is promised. ¹
