Be careful not to overlook the Levites as long as you live in the land.

Furthermore, remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and so be careful to observe these statutes.

Remember what the Lord your God did to Miriam ¹  along the way after you left Egypt.

“I said, ‘I want to cut them in pieces. ¹  I want to make people forget they ever existed.

That day ¹  – let it be darkness; ²  let not God on high regard ³  it, nor let light shine ⁴  on it!

Remember ¹  that my life is but a breath, that ²  my eyes will never again ³  see happiness.

If ¹  I say, ²  “My bed will comfort me, ³  my couch will ease ⁴  my complaint,”

If he is uprooted ¹  from his place, then that place ²  will disown him, saying, ³  ‘I have never seen you!’

If you lay your hand on it, you will remember ¹  the fight, and you will never do it again!

I am forgotten, like a dead man no one thinks about; ¹  I am regarded as worthless, like a broken jar. ² 

Are your amazing deeds experienced ¹  in the dark region, ²  or your deliverance in the land of oblivion? ³ 

Listen, ¹  my child, ²  to the instruction ³  from ⁴  your father, and do not forsake the teaching ⁵  from ⁶  your mother.

A person’s wisdom ¹  makes him slow to anger, ²  and it is his glory ³  to overlook ⁴  an offense.

Those who revolt are knee-deep in slaughter, ¹  but I will discipline them all. ² 

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? ¹  Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

Each of you should be concerned ¹  not only ²  about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well. ³ 

Masters, treat your slaves with justice and fairness, because you know that you also have a master in heaven.

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David; ¹  such is my gospel, ² 

But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

ו (Vav) He destroyed his temple ¹  as if it were a vineyard; ²  he destroyed his appointed meeting place. The Lord has made those in Zion forget both the festivals and the Sabbaths. ³  In his fierce anger ⁴  he has spurned ⁵  both king and priest.
