You refuse to believe a day of disaster will come, ¹  but you establish a reign of violence. ²

This is how you are to deal with all those cities located far from you, those that do not belong to these nearby nations.

You plant them like trees and they put down their roots. ¹  They grow prosperous and are very fruitful. ²  They always talk about you, but they really care nothing about you. ³ 

Now they must put away their spiritual prostitution and the pillars of their kings far from me, and then I will live among them forever.

Far be it from you to do such a thing – to kill the godly with the wicked, treating the godly and the wicked alike! Far be it from you! Will not the judge ¹  of the whole earth do what is right?” ²
