But wisdom is vindicated ¹  by all her children.” ² 

but if only a few years remain ¹  until the jubilee, he must calculate for himself in keeping with the remaining years and refund it for his redemption.

“Number the people ¹  from twenty years old and upward, just as the Lord commanded Moses and the Israelites who went out from the land of Egypt.”

When they invaded ¹  with their cattle and tents, they were as thick ²  as locusts. Neither they nor their camels could be counted. ³  They came to devour ⁴  the land.

But the king’s edict stood, despite the objections of ¹  Joab and the leaders of the army. So Joab and the leaders of the army left the king’s presence in order to muster the Israelite army.

Now the Lord makes this announcement: “Within exactly three years ¹  Moab’s splendor will disappear, along with all her many people; there will be just a few, insignificant survivors left.” ² 

Those who are under the yoke as slaves ¹  must regard their own masters as deserving of full respect. This will prevent ²  the name of God and Christian teaching ³  from being discredited. ⁴ 

Then ¹  a measuring rod ²  like a staff was given to me, and I was told, ³  “Get up and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and the ones who worship there.

Only in two things spare me, ¹  O God, ²  and then I will not hide from your face:

For it is a fire that devours even to Destruction, ¹  and it would uproot ²  all my harvest.

I would give him an accounting of my steps; like a prince I would approach him.

Can you count on ¹  it to bring in ²  your grain, ³  and gather the grain ⁴  to your threshing floor? ⁵ 

By David; a well-written song. ²  How blessed ³  is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, ⁴  whose sin is pardoned! ⁵ 

A horse disappoints those who trust in it for victory; ¹  despite its great strength, it cannot deliver.

He pronounces this blessing on himself while he is alive: “May men praise you, for you have done well!”

You are my source of strength! I will wait for you! ¹  For God is my refuge. ² 

So teach us to consider our mortality, ¹  so that we might live wisely. ² 

When he is judged, he will be found ¹  guilty! ²  Then his prayer will be regarded as sinful.

The enemies who chase me are numerous. ¹  Yet I do not turn aside from your rules.

Be assured that ¹  the evil person will certainly be punished, ²  but the descendants of the righteous ³  will not suffer unjust judgment. ⁴
