However, due to your abundant mercy you did not do away with them altogether; you did not abandon them. For you are a merciful and compassionate God.

Drinks ¹  were served in golden containers, all of which differed from one another. Royal wine was available in abundance at the king’s expense.

But as for me, ¹  because of your great faithfulness I will enter your house; ²  I will bow down toward your holy temple as I worship you. ³ 

“Look, here is the man who would not make ¹  God his protector! He trusted in his great wealth and was confident about his plans to destroy others.” ²

I will provide the priests with abundant provisions. ¹  My people will be filled to the full with the good things I provide.”

It has tried my patience; ¹  yet its thick rot is not removed ²  from it. Subject its rot to the fire! ³
