Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

When King Herod ¹  heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

Now when the Pharisees ¹  heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, ²  they assembled together. ³ 

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven.”

He confessed – he did not deny but confessed – “I am not the Christ!” ¹ 

I have both seen and testified that this man is the Chosen One of God.” ¹ 

For this reason his parents said, “He is a mature adult, ¹  ask him.”) ² 

Then Jesus ¹  asked them again, “Who are you looking for?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene.”

for it is impossible ¹  for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

But if you want anything in addition, ¹  it will have to be settled ²  in a legal assembly. ³ 

What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, ¹  has discovered regarding this matter? ² 

This is my defense to those who examine me.

Now without dispute the inferior is blessed by the superior,

Then the king replied to the woman, “Don’t hide any information from me when I question you.” The woman said, “Let my lord the king speak!”

Ask yourselves this and consider it carefully: ¹  Have you ever seen a man give birth to a baby? Why then do I see all these strong men grabbing their stomachs in pain like ²  a woman giving birth? And why do their faces turn so deathly pale?

All the officials did indeed come and question Jeremiah. ¹  He told them exactly what the king had instructed him to say. ²  They stopped questioning him any further because no one had actually heard their conversation. ³ 

by asking both the priests of the temple ¹  of the Lord who rules over all and the prophets, “Should we weep in the fifth month, ²  fasting as we have done over the years?”

He said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Then ¹  Jesus said to them, “I ask you, ²  is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?”

For ¹  we are in danger of being charged with rioting ²  today, since there is no cause we can give to explain ³  this disorderly gathering.” ⁴
