Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then ¹  she got up and began to serve them.

Jesus ¹  answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment ¹  what you must say.” ² 

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath of the authorities ¹  but also because of your conscience. ² 

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.

If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.

begging us with great earnestness for the blessing and fellowship of helping ¹  the saints.

in whom we have boldness and confident access ¹  to God ²  because of ³  Christ’s ⁴  faithfulness. ⁵ 

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.

In this way you will live ¹  a decent life before outsiders and not be in need. ² 

But those who were to camp in front of the tabernacle on the east, in front of the tent of meeting, were Moses, Aaron, ¹  and his sons. They were responsible for the needs ²  of the sanctuary and for the needs of the Israelites, but the unauthorized person who approached was to be put to death.

Then David went to his palace ¹  in Jerusalem. The king took the ten concubines he had left to care for the palace and placed them under confinement. ²  Though he provided for their needs, he did not have sexual relations with them. ³  They remained in confinement until the day they died, living out the rest of their lives as widows.

The Lord asked, ¹  “How can I leave you unpunished, Jerusalem? ²  Your people ³  have rejected me and have worshiped gods that are not gods at all. ⁴  Even though I supplied all their needs, ⁵  they were like an unfaithful wife to me. ⁶  They went flocking ⁷  to the houses of prostitutes. ⁸ 

When ¹  I was with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia fully supplied my needs. ²  I ³  kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.

Now I understand that ¹  you have gone away ²  because you longed desperately ³  for your father’s house. Yet why did you steal my gods?” ⁴ 

The captain of the guard appointed Joseph to be their attendant, and he served them. ¹  They spent some time in custody. ² 

You may purchase ¹  food to eat and water to drink from them.

Sell me food for cash ¹  so that I can eat and sell me water to drink. ²  Just allow me to go through on foot,
