On the seventeenth day of the seventh month, the ark came to rest on one of the mountains of Ararat. ¹ 

Then Noah ¹  sent out a dove ²  to see if the waters had receded ³  from the surface of the ground.

“Should not this ¹  abundance of words be answered, ²  or should this ³  talkative man ⁴  be vindicated? ⁵ 

For my sins overwhelm me; ¹  like a heavy load, they are too much for me to bear.

He turned the sea into dry land; ¹  they passed through the river on foot. ²  Let us rejoice in him there! ³ 

The words of a person’s mouth are like ¹  deep waters, ²  and ³  the fountain of wisdom ⁴  is like ⁵  a flowing brook. ⁶ 

The water of the sea will be dried up, and the river will dry up and be empty. ¹ 

So David marched against Baal Perazim and defeated them there. Then he said, “The Lord has burst out against my enemies like water bursts out.” So he called the name of that place Baal Perazim. ¹ 

So they marched against Baal Perazim and David defeated them there. David said, “Using me as his instrument, ¹  God has burst out against my enemies like water bursts out.” So that place is called Baal Perazim. ² 

“At the time of the end the king of the south will attack ¹  him. Then the king of the north will storm against him ²  with chariots, horsemen, and a large armada of ships. ³  He ⁴  will invade lands, passing through them like an overflowing river. ⁵ 

and also seven ¹  of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, ²  to preserve their offspring ³  on the face of the earth.

The waters completely inundated ¹  the earth so that even ²  all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.

The waters kept receding steadily ¹  from the earth, so that they ²  had gone down ³  by the end of the 150 days.

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Now Ham was the father of Canaan.) ¹ 

Sure enough, the next morning, at the time of the morning sacrifice, water came flowing down from Edom and filled the land. ¹ 

Far from where people live ¹  he sinks a shaft, in places travelers have long forgotten, ²  far from other people he dangles and sways. ³ 

The Lord’s shout is heard over the water; ¹  the majestic God thunders, ²  the Lord appears over the surging water. ³ 

You allowed men to ride over our heads; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us out into a wide open place. ¹ 

When the mountains see you, they shake. The torrential downpour sweeps through. ¹  The great deep ²  shouts out; it lifts its hands high. ³ 

The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed; it was utterly destroyed!” ¹
