So they defeated Og, ¹  his sons, and all his people, until there were no survivors, ²  and they possessed his land.

The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it.

So the Lord has uprooted them from their land in anger, wrath, and great rage and has deported them to another land, as is clear today.”

The everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms; ¹  he has driven out enemies before you, and has said, “Destroy!”

Whenever the Israelites were strong militarily, they forced the Canaanites to do hard labor, but they never totally conquered them. ¹ 

Caleb received ¹  Hebron, just as Moses had promised. He drove out the three Anakites.
