Pharaoh said to him, “Go from me! ¹  Watch out for yourself! Do not appear before me again, ²  for when ³  you see my face you will die!”

He is to examine the infection, and if ¹  the infection in the walls of the house consists of yellowish green or reddish eruptions, ²  and it appears to be deeper than the surface of the wall, ³ 

Let us rise early to go to the vineyards, to see if the vines have budded, to see if their blossoms have opened, if the pomegranates are in bloom – there I will give you my love.

“This is what he told me: ¹  ‘The fourth beast means that there will be a fourth kingdom on earth that will differ from all the other kingdoms. It will devour all the earth and will trample and crush it.

His forces ¹  will rise up and profane the fortified sanctuary, ²  stopping the daily sacrifice. In its place they will set up ³  the abomination that causes desolation.

“When ¹  you fast, do not look sullen like the hypocrites, for they make their faces unattractive ²  so that people will see them fasting. I tell you the truth, ³  they have their reward.

so that it will not be obvious to others when you are fasting, but only to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be ¹  has not yet been revealed. We ²  know that ³  whenever ⁴  it ⁵  is revealed ⁶  we will be like him, because ⁷  we will see him just as he is. ⁸ 

Then Moses summoned ¹  Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, but they said, “We will not come up. ² 

So Elijah went to make an appearance before Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria. ¹ 

That night God appeared ¹  to Solomon and said to him, “Tell me ²  what I should give you.”

For he does not still consider a person, ¹  that he should come before God in judgment.

Have you ever in your life ¹  commanded the morning, or made the dawn know ²  its place,

Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go? Will they say to you, ‘Here we are’?

Would you indeed annul ¹  my justice? Would you declare me guilty so that you might be right?

Strap your sword to your thigh, O warrior! ¹  Appear in your majestic splendor! ² 

They are sustained as they travel along; ¹  each one appears ²  before God in Zion.

Certainly his loyal followers will soon experience his deliverance; ¹  then his splendor will again appear in our land. ² 

Like a coating of glaze ¹  over earthenware are fervent ²  lips with an evil heart. ³
