Thus we are full of courage and would prefer to be away ¹  from the body and at home with the Lord.

Are you so foolish? Although you began ¹  with ²  the Spirit, are you now trying to finish ³  by human effort? ⁴ 

But would you like evidence, ¹  you empty fellow, ²  that faith without works is useless? ³

However, if the servant ¹  says to you, “I do not want to leave ²  you,” because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,

When you go out to do battle with your enemies and the Lord your God allows you to prevail ¹  and you take prisoners,

If a virgin is engaged to a man and another man meets ¹  her in the city and has sexual relations with ²  her,

Suppose a man comes across a virgin who is not engaged and overpowers and rapes ¹  her and they are discovered.

Your claim to have a strategy and military strength is just empty talk. ¹  In whom are you trusting, that you would dare to rebel against me?

If anyone dares to ¹  challenge you, it will not be my doing! Whoever tries to challenge you will be defeated. ² 

(though the father did not do any of them). ¹  He eats pagan sacrifices on the mountains, ²  defiles his neighbor’s wife,

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. ¹
