A craftsman casts ¹  an idol; a metalsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it.

This man is staying as a guest with a man named Simon, a tanner, ¹  whose house is by the sea.”

Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. ¹ 

Not all are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Not all are teachers, are they? Not all perform miracles, do they?

also to submit to people like this, and to everyone who cooperates in the work and labors hard.

Alexander the coppersmith did me a great deal of harm. ¹  The Lord will repay him in keeping with his deeds. ² 

The craftsman encourages the metalsmith, the one who wields the hammer encourages ¹  the one who pounds on the anvil. He approves the quality of the welding, ²  and nails it down so it won’t fall over.”

So the Lord God expelled him ¹  from the orchard in Eden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken.

But the worker ¹  answered him, ‘Sir, leave it alone this year too, until I dig around it and put fertilizer ²  on it.

Now in that city was a man named Simon, who had been practicing magic ¹  and amazing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great.

Therefore send to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. This man is staying as a guest in the house of Simon the tanner, ¹  by the sea.’

For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith who made silver shrines ¹  of Artemis, ²  brought a great deal ³  of business ⁴  to the craftsmen.
