Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! ¹  Do ²  you sit there judging me according to the law, ³  and in violation of the law ⁴  you order me to be struck?”

The king told him, “Do as he said! Strike him down and bury him. Take away from me and from my father’s family ¹  the guilt of Joab’s murderous, bloody deeds. ² 

May the godly strike me in love and correct me! May my head not refuse ¹  choice oil! ²  Indeed, my prayer is a witness against their evil deeds. ³ 

He will treat the poor fairly, ¹  and make right decisions ²  for the downtrodden of the earth. ³  He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, ⁴  and order the wicked to be executed. ⁵ 

He will encourage fathers and their children to return to me, ¹  so that I will not come and strike the earth with judgment.” ² 

Furthermore, I will strike her followers ¹  with a deadly disease, ²  and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay ³  each one of you ⁴  what your deeds deserve. ⁵ 

When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, “Should I strike them down, ¹  my master?” ² 

They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone. ¹ 

I will strike you brutally ¹  and destroy you because of your sin.

They will never go hungry or be thirsty again, and the sun will not beat down on them, nor any burning heat, ¹

The Lord said to him, “Ah, but ¹  I will be with you! You will strike down the whole Midianite army.” ² 

Then Saul threw his spear at Jonathan ¹  in order to strike him down. So Jonathan was convinced ²  that his father had decided to kill David.

Then David called one of the soldiers ¹  and said, “Come here and strike him down!” So he struck him down, and he died.

So look, the Lord is about to severely afflict ¹  your people, your sons, your wives, and all you own.

Rise up, ¹  Lord! Deliver me, my God! Yes, ²  you will strike ³  all my enemies on the jaw; you will break the teeth ⁴  of the wicked. ⁵ 

“‘See, I strike my hands together ¹  at the dishonest profit you have made, and at the bloodshed ²  they have done among you.

I will knock your bow out of your left hand and make your arrows fall from your right hand.

Absalom instructed his servants, “Look! When Amnon is drunk ¹  and I say to you, ‘Strike Amnon down,’ kill him then and there. Don’t fear! Is it not I who have given you these instructions? Be strong and courageous!” ² 

Do not be one who strikes hands in pledge or who puts up security for debts.
