I will cross the Jordan with the king and go a short distance. ¹  Why should the king reward me in this way?

He will restore ¹  us in a very short time; ²  he will heal us in a little while, ³  so that we may live in his presence.

Then Jesus said, “I will be with you for only a little while longer, ¹  and then ²  I am going to the one who sent me.

But ¹  concerning the one who lacks such things ²  – he is blind. That is to say, he is ³  nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins.

So the people spread out ¹  through all the land of Egypt to collect stubble for straw.

But when you assemble the community, ¹  you must blow, but you must not sound an alarm. ² 

the ostrich, ¹  the owl, ²  the seagull, the falcon ³  after its species,

“My days ¹  are swifter than a runner, ²  they speed by without seeing happiness.

Are your days like the days of a mortal, or your years like the years ¹  of a mortal,

My spirit is broken, ¹  my days have faded out, ²  the grave ³  awaits me.

His vigorous steps ¹  are restricted, ²  and his own counsel throws him down. ³ 

They die ¹  in their youth, and their life ends among the male cultic prostitutes. ² 

We have sinned like ¹  our ancestors; ²  we have done wrong, we have done evil.

They quickly forgot what he had done; ¹  they did not wait for his instructions. ² 

A fool’s annoyance ¹  is known at once, ²  but the prudent ³  overlooks ⁴  an insult.

A person who has a quick temper ¹  does foolish things, and a person with crafty schemes ²  is hated. ³ 

Do not make friends with an angry person, ¹  and do not associate with a wrathful person,

But ¹  Jesus rebuked him: ²  “Silence! Come out of him!” ³ 

and he would not permit anyone to carry merchandise ¹  through the temple courts. ² 

For I did not hold back from ¹  announcing ²  to you the whole purpose ³  of God.
