For observing the festival is a requirement for Israel; ¹  it is an ordinance given by the God of Jacob.

I will be secure, ¹  for I seek your precepts.

I belong to you. Deliver me! For I seek your precepts.

Two things ¹  I ask from you; ²  do not refuse me before I die:

The Israelite foremen whom Pharaoh’s slave masters had set over them were beaten and were asked, ¹  “Why did you not complete your requirement for brickmaking as in the past – both yesterday and today?” ² 

The Ephraimites ¹  did not conquer the Canaanites living in Gezer. The Canaanites live among the Ephraimites to this very day and do hard labor as their servants.

“When someone is accused of sinning against his neighbor and the latter pronounces a curse on the alleged offender before your altar in this temple, be willing to forgive the accused if the accusation is false. ¹ 

An edict was sent throughout Judah and Jerusalem requiring the people to bring to the Lord the tax that Moses, God’s servant, imposed on Israel in the wilderness. ¹ 

So Jonah went immediately to Nineveh, as the Lord had said. (Now Nineveh was an enormous city ¹  – it required three days to walk through it!) ² 

So ¹  Simeon, ²  directed by the Spirit, ³  came into the temple courts, ⁴  and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what was customary according to the law, ⁵ 

But some from the religious party of the Pharisees ¹  who had believed stood up and said, “It is necessary ²  to circumcise the Gentiles ³  and to order them to observe ⁴  the law of Moses.”

When he says above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sin-offerings you did not desire nor did you take delight in them” ¹  (which are offered according to the law),

Do not audit the foremen who disburse the silver, for they are honest.” ¹ 

So the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the items used in its service.”

I sought the Lord’s help ¹  and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

The ¹  Pharisee was astonished when he saw that Jesus ²  did not first wash his hands ³  before the meal.

Then ¹  they returned and prepared aromatic spices ²  and perfumes. ³  On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment. ⁴ 

Yet ¹  not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, although he was a Greek.

and for this reason he is obligated to make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people.

The slave masters were pressuring ¹  them, saying, “Complete ²  your work for each day, just like when there was straw!”
