Day after day it speaks out; ¹  night after night it reveals his greatness. ² 

Magnify the Lord with me! Let’s praise ¹  his name together!

For you are great and do amazing things. You alone are God.

Though he causes us ¹  grief, he then has compassion on us ²  according to the abundance of his loyal kindness. ³ 

At that time my sanity returned to me. I was restored ¹  to the honor of my kingdom, and my splendor returned to me. My ministers and my nobles were seeking me out, and I was reinstated ²  over my kingdom. I became even greater than before.

Due to the greatness that he bestowed on him, all peoples, nations, and language groups were trembling with fear ¹  before him. He killed whom he wished, he spared ²  whom he wished, he exalted whom he wished, and he brought low whom he wished.

For this reason ¹  I kneel ²  before the Father, ³ 

The list of Joash’s ¹  sons, the many prophetic oracles pertaining to him, and the account of his building project on God’s temple are included in the record of the Scroll of the Kings. ²  His son Amaziah replaced him as king.

Give thanks to the Lord! Call on his name! Make known his accomplishments among the nations!

I will sing praises to God’s name! ¹  I will magnify him as I give him thanks! ²

He remembered his covenant with them, and relented ¹  because of his great loyal love.

I will proclaim your greatness through the coming years, ¹  then the nations will praise you ²  forever.

Answer me, O Lord, for your loyal love is good! ¹  Because of your great compassion, turn toward me!

Then we, your people, the sheep of your pasture, will continually thank you. ¹  We will tell coming generations of your praiseworthy acts. ² 

The Lord who commands armies planned it – to dishonor the pride that comes from all her beauty, ¹  to humiliate all the dignitaries of the earth.

Why do you complain about your injuries, that your pain is incurable? I have done all this to you because your wickedness is so great and your sin is so much.

By your great skill ¹  in trade you have increased your wealth, and your heart is proud because of your wealth.

Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs, ¹  in Cana ²  of Galilee. In this way he revealed ³  his glory, and his disciples believed in him. ⁴ 

Then they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens ¹  so that ²  we may make a name for ourselves. Otherwise ³  we will be scattered ⁴  across the face of the entire earth.”
