For we groan while we are in this tent, ¹  since we are weighed down, ²  because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

and submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. ¹ 

And this is what we intend to do, ¹  if God permits.

So these three men refused to answer ²  Job further, because he was righteous in his ³  own eyes.

But when Elihu saw ¹  that the three men had no further reply, ²  he became very angry.

And further, ¹  when you say that his anger does not punish, ²  and that he does not know transgression! ³ 

As Paul and Barnabas ¹  were going out, ²  the people ³  were urging ⁴  them to speak about these things ⁵  on the next Sabbath.

When they had eaten enough to be satisfied, ¹  they lightened the ship by throwing the wheat ²  into the sea.

Then the king said to Queen Esther, “In Susa the citadel the Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman! What then have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? What is your request? It shall be given to you. What other petition do you have? It shall be done.”

Shaphan brought the scroll to the king and reported, ¹  “Your servants are doing everything assigned to them.

For the living know that they will die, but the dead do not know anything; they have no further reward – and even the memory of them disappears. ¹ 

When they heard this, ¹  they ceased their objections ²  and praised ³  God, saying, “So then, God has granted the repentance ⁴  that leads to life even to the Gentiles.” ⁵ 

He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!

For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, ¹ 

God spoke ¹  to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord. ² 

If, however, the scall spreads further ¹  on the skin after his purification,

“They are dismayed ²  and cannot answer any more; they have nothing left to say. ³ 

The reward ¹  which the righteous receive ²  is life; the recompense ³  which the wicked receive ⁴  is judgment. ⁵ 

It is dangerous ¹  to have zeal ²  without knowledge, and the one who acts hastily ³  makes poor choices. ⁴ 

The plans of the diligent ¹  lead ²  only to plenty, ³  but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. ⁴
