I ¹  look for ²  you during the night, my spirit within me seeks you at dawn, for when your judgments come upon the earth, those who live in the world learn about justice. ³ 

She bestowed her sexual favors on them; all of them were the choicest young men of Assyria. She defiled herself with all whom she desired ¹  – with all their idols.

He will not respect ¹  the gods of his fathers – not even the god loved by women. ²  He will not respect any god; he will elevate himself above them all.

What he will honor is a god of fortresses – a god his fathers did not acknowledge he will honor with gold, silver, valuable stones, and treasured commodities.

I will also shake up all the nations, and they ¹  will offer their treasures; ²  then I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord who rules over all.

For you know that ¹  later when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no opportunity for repentance, although he sought the blessing ²  with tears.

For he knows no satisfaction in his appetite; ¹  he does not let anything he desires ²  escape. ³ 

But he is unchangeable, ¹  and who can change ²  him? Whatever he ³  has desired, he does.

My fruit is better than the purest gold, ¹  and what I produce ²  is better than choice silver.

Hope ¹  deferred ²  makes the heart sick, ³  but a longing fulfilled ⁴  is like ⁵  a tree of life.

How much better it is to acquire ¹  wisdom than gold; to acquire understanding is more desirable ²  than silver.

There is desirable treasure and olive oil ¹  in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish person ²  devours all he has. ³ 

Many people seek the face ¹  of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one receives justice. ² 

clothed in blue, governors and officials, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.

Therefore I handed her over to her lovers, the Assyrians ¹  for whom she lusted.

For I delight in faithfulness, not simply in sacrifice; I delight ¹  in acknowledging God, not simply in whole burnt offerings. ² 

Now when the Pharisees ¹  and Sadducees ²  came to test Jesus, ³  they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ⁴ 

Now ¹  Jesus went up the mountain ²  and called for those he wanted, and they came to him.

“Simon, ¹  Simon, pay attention! ²  Satan has demanded to have you all, ³  to sift you like wheat, ⁴ 

On the next day Jesus ¹  wanted to set out for Galilee. ²  He ³  found Philip and said ⁴  to him, “Follow me.”
