Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: ¹ 

The Spirit himself bears witness to ¹  our spirit that we are God’s children.

and commanded the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God ¹  being carried by the Levitical priests, you must leave here ²  and walk ³  behind it.

Asa had an army of 300,000 men from Judah, equipped with large shields and spears. He also had 280,000 men from Benjamin who carried small shields and were adept archers; they were all skilled warriors.

He is like ¹  a tree planted by flowing streams; ²  it ³  yields ⁴  its fruit at the proper time, ⁵  and its leaves never fall off. ⁶  He succeeds in everything he attempts. ⁷

The fruit of the righteous is like ¹  a tree producing life, ²  and the one who wins souls ³  is wise. ⁴ 

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s ¹  root stock, a bud will sprout ²  from his roots.

So the Pharisees ¹  objected, ²  “You testify about yourself; your testimony is not true!” ³ 

I testify about myself ¹  and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

I wish that you would be patient with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you are being patient with me!

Beware that the heart of no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you turns away from the Lord our God today to pursue and serve the gods of those nations; beware that there is among you no root producing poisonous and bitter fruit. ¹ 

When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ¹  she came to challenge ²  him ³  with difficult questions. ⁴  She arrived in Jerusalem ⁵  with a great display of pomp, ⁶  bringing with her camels carrying spices, ⁷  a very large quantity of gold, and precious gems. She visited Solomon and discussed with him everything that was on her mind.

Those who carried the ark of the Lord took six steps and then David ¹  sacrificed an ox and a fatling calf.

Our cattle will be weighted down with produce. ¹  No one will break through our walls, no one will be taken captive, and there will be no terrified cries in our city squares. ² 

“‘But you, mountains of Israel, will grow your branches, and bear your fruit for my people Israel; for they will arrive soon. ¹
