The Lord cried out, ¹  “Who in the world ²  will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will grieve over you? Who will stop long enough ³  to inquire about how you are doing? ⁴ 

Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I do these things:

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, ¹  so that the Father may be glorified ²  in the Son.

“Come, have breakfast,” Jesus said. ¹  But none of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord.

Now to him who by the power that is working within us ¹  is able to do far beyond ²  all that we ask or think,

And this is the confidence that we have before him: that ¹  whenever ²  we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

And if we know ¹  that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

so much that he promised with an oath ¹  to give her whatever she asked.

The men examined ¹  some of their provisions, but they failed to ask the Lord’s advice. ² 

For this reason I ask you ¹  not to lose heart because of what I am suffering for you, ²  which ³  is your glory. ⁴ 

You can make the bride price and the gift I must bring very expensive, ¹  and I’ll give ²  whatever you ask ³  of me. Just give me the young woman as my wife!”

Samuel said, “Why are you asking me, now that the Lord has turned away from you and has become your enemy?

Therefore, the Lord says, “Ask the people of other nations whether they have heard of anything like this. Israel should have been like a virgin. But she has done something utterly revolting!

But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind.

and ¹  whatever we ask we receive from him, because ²  we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing to him.

Remember the ancient days; bear in mind ¹  the years of past generations. ²  Ask your father and he will inform you, your elders, and they will tell you.

If you then, although you are ¹  evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit ²  to those who ask him!”

When your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ ¹  –

Indeed, ask about the distant past, starting from the day God created humankind ¹  on the earth, and ask ²  from one end of heaven to the other, whether there has ever been such a great thing as this, or even a rumor of it.
