The Lord said, ¹  “Go up and down ²  through the streets of Jerusalem. ³  Look around and see for yourselves. Search through its public squares. See if any of you can find a single person who deals honestly and tries to be truthful. ⁴  If you can, ⁵  then I will not punish this city. ⁶ 

Watch them from morning to evening; ¹  I am the object of their mocking songs.

¹ O Lord, reflect on ²  what has happened to us; consider ³  and look at ⁴  our disgrace.

If, for example, the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will get ready for battle?

I assure you ¹  that, before God, I am not lying about what I am writing to you! ² 

And when you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that are located on the south side must begin to travel. ¹  An alarm must be sounded ²  for their journeys.

When he gets ready to go to sleep, ¹  take careful notice of the place where he lies down. Then go, uncover his legs, ²  and lie down ³  beside him. ⁴  He will tell ⁵  you what you should do.”

Locate precisely all the places where he hides and return to me with dependable information. ¹  Then I will go with you. If he is in the land, I will find him ²  among all the thousands of Judah.”

I will say, ¹  ‘My dear children of Israel, ²  keep in mind the road you took when you were carried off. ³  Mark off in your minds the landmarks. Make a mental note of telltale signs marking the way back. Return, my dear children of Israel. Return to these cities of yours.

He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, so he is responsible for himself. ¹  If he had heeded the warning, he would have saved his life.

When they saw the boldness ¹  of Peter and John, and discovered ²  that they were uneducated ³  and ordinary ⁴  men, they were amazed and recognized these men had been with Jesus.

Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, ¹  to watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles contrary to the teaching that you learned. Avoid them!

The Lord visited ¹  Sarah just as he had said he would and did ²  for Sarah what he had promised. ³ 

Then God took note of ¹  Rachel. He paid attention to her and enabled her to become pregnant. ² 

Moses listened to ¹  his father-in-law and did everything he had said.

When you blow an alarm, ¹  then the camps that are located ²  on the east side must begin to travel. ³ 

Moreover, he said to me, “I have taken note of these people; they are a stubborn ¹  lot!

Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

But the Lord took note and despised them because his sons and daughters enraged him.

The Lord’s messenger told ¹  Manoah, “Your wife should pay attention to everything I told her. ²
