Then Saul struck down the Amalekites all the way from Havilah to ¹  Shur, which is next to Egypt.

They come with red cloth ¹  from Egypt, Ethiopia ²  voluntarily offers tribute ³  to God.

You destroyed ¹  the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster ²  in the water.

He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of their reproductive power. ¹ 

He delivered them from the power ¹  of the one who hated them, and rescued ²  them from the power ³  of the enemy.

The Lord spoke to the prophet Jeremiah ¹  about the Philistines before Pharaoh attacked Gaza. ² 

Our ¹  ancestors ²  were unwilling to obey ³  him, but pushed him aside ⁴  and turned back to Egypt in their hearts,

By faith, when he grew up, Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,

or what he did to the army of Egypt, including their horses and chariots, when he made the waters of the Red Sea ¹  overwhelm them while they were pursuing you and he ²  annihilated them. ³ 

The Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go back ¹  to Egypt, because all the men who were seeking your life are dead.” ² 

Then Pharaoh also summoned wise men and sorcerers, ¹  and the magicians ²  of Egypt by their secret arts ³  did the same thing.

Instruct ¹  the people that each man and each woman is to request ²  from his or her neighbor ³  items of silver and gold.” ⁴ 

So the Lord saved ¹  Israel on that day from the power ²  of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead ³  on the shore of the sea.

Jethro rejoiced ¹  because of all the good that the Lord had done for Israel, whom he had delivered from the hand of Egypt.

be sure ¹  you do not feel self-important and forget the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, the place of slavery,

He will infect you with all the diseases of Egypt ¹  that you dreaded, and they will persistently afflict you. ² 

He had 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horsemen, and an innumerable number of soldiers who accompanied him from Egypt, including Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites.

He sent his anger in full force; ¹  he did not spare them from death; he handed their lives over to destruction. ² 

When the army is taken away, the king of the south will become arrogant. ¹  He will be responsible for the death ²  of thousands and thousands of people, ³  but he will not continue to prevail.

He will have control over the hidden stores of gold and silver, as well as all the treasures of Egypt. Libyans and Ethiopians ¹  will submit to him. ²
