Above the Horse Gate the priests worked, each in front of his house.

Jeshua was the father of ¹  Joiakim, Joiakim was the father of Eliashib, Eliashib was the father of Joiada,

he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, ¹  to enter ²  the holy place ³  of the Lord and burn incense.

and here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison ¹  all who call on your name!” ² 

For there is one God and one intermediary ¹  between God and humanity, Christ Jesus, himself human, ² 

who is faithful to the one who appointed him, as Moses was also in God’s ¹  house. ² 

And the others ¹  who became priests were numerous, because death prevented them ²  from continuing in office, ³ 

a minister in the sanctuary and the true tabernacle that the Lord, not man, set up.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, ¹  since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

You have appointed ¹  them ²  as a kingdom and priests ³  to serve ⁴  our God, and they will reign ⁵  on the earth.”

In the seventh year Jehoiada made a bold move. He made a pact ¹  with the officers of the units of hundreds: Azariah son of Jehoram, Ishmael son of Jehochanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zikri.

He made the breastpiece, the work of an artistic designer, in the same fashion as the ephod, of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen.

and they made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and they attached the two rings to the upper ¹  two ends of the breastpiece.

Then the one making the offering ¹  must present all its fat: the fatty tail, the fat covering the entrails,

The one from Aaron’s sons who presents the blood of the peace offering and fat will have the right thigh as his share,

and he is to send the live bird away outside the city ¹  into the open countryside. So he is to make atonement for the house and it will be clean.

He must not marry ¹  a widow, a divorced woman, or one profaned by prostitution; he may only take a virgin from his people ²  as a wife.

Certainly ¹  no man who has a physical flaw is to approach: a blind man, or one who is lame, or one with a slit nose, ²  or a limb too long,

and so cause them to incur a penalty for guilt ¹  when they eat their holy offerings, ²  for I am the Lord who sanctifies them.’”

Each Sabbath day ¹  Aaron ²  must arrange it before the Lord continually; this portion ³  is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.
