He mounted ¹  a winged angel ²  and flew; he glided ³  on the wings of the wind. ⁴ 

Then he went up with them into the boat, and the wind ceased. They were completely astonished,

And when you see the south wind ¹  blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³ 

When he made ¹  the force of the wind and measured ²  the waters with a gauge.

He gave the order for a windstorm, ¹  and it stirred up the waves of the sea. ² 

Ephraim continually feeds on the wind; he chases the east wind all day; he multiplies lies and violence. They make treaties ¹  with Assyria, and send olive oil as tribute ²  to Egypt.

The Lord ¹  said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord. Look, the Lord is ready to pass by.” A very powerful wind went before the Lord, digging into the mountain and causing landslides, ²  but the Lord was not in the wind. After the windstorm there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

“How long will you speak these things, ¹  seeing ²  that the words of your mouth are like a great ³  wind? ⁴ 

“Does a wise man answer with blustery knowledge, ¹  or fill his belly ²  with the east wind? ³ 

The east wind carries him away, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place.

In what direction is lightning ¹  dispersed, or the east winds scattered over the earth?

Not so with the wicked! Instead ¹  they are like wind-driven chaff. ² 

I grind them as fine windblown dust; ¹  I beat them underfoot ²  like clay ³  in the streets.

but when the hot wind ¹  blows by, it disappears, and one can no longer even spot the place where it once grew.

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, ¹  so is the one who boasts ²  of a gift not given. ³ 

He who watches the wind will not sow, and he who observes the clouds will not reap. ¹ 

The Beloved to Her Lover: Awake, O north wind; come, O south wind! Blow on my garden so that its fragrant spices may send out their sweet smell. ¹  May my beloved come into his garden and eat its delightful fruit!

Do you intend to criticize mere words, and treat ¹  the words of a despairing man as wind?

You pick me up on the wind and make me ride on it; ¹  you toss me about ²  in the storm. ³
