He made ten washing basins; he put five on the south side and five on the north side. In them they rinsed the items used for burnt sacrifices; the priests washed in “The Sea.”

But if the priest has examined it and ¹  the infection has faded after it has been washed, he is to tear it out of ²  the garment or the leather or the warp or the woof.

And this prefigured baptism, which now saves you ¹  – not the washing off of physical dirt ²  but the pledge ³  of a good conscience to God – through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

and Aaron and his sons must wash their hands and their feet from it. ¹

the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils; the large basin with its pedestal;

You are to put the large basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it. ¹ 

So Moses brought Aaron and his sons forward and washed them with water.

the ten ¹  movable stands with their ten ²  basins,

If I wash myself with snow water, ¹  and make my hands clean with lye, ² 

For all of you who ¹  were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

We did not change clothes ¹  – not I, nor my relatives, nor my workers, nor the watchmen who were with me. Each had his weapon, even when getting a drink of water. ² 

The Pharisees and the experts in the law asked him, “Why do your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat ¹  with unwashed hands?”

and has a reputation for good works: as one who has raised children, ¹  practiced hospitality, washed the feet of the saints, helped those in distress – as one who has exhibited all kinds of good works. ² 

Let a little water be brought so that ¹  you may all ²  wash your feet and rest under the tree.

Then he washed his face and came out. With composure he said, ¹  “Set out the food.”

I concluded, ¹  “Surely in vain I have kept my motives ²  pure and maintained a pure lifestyle. ³
