because John had repeatedly told ¹  him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” ² 

(They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.) ¹ 

“I have spoken these things while staying ¹  with you.

for it is impossible ¹  for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

I assure you ¹  that, before God, I am not lying about what I am writing to you! ² 

I say this so that no one will deceive you through arguments ¹  that sound reasonable. ² 

Then I said, “Oh, Lord God, ¹  look! ²  The prophets are telling them that you said, ³  ‘You will not experience war or suffer famine. ⁴  I will give you lasting peace and prosperity in this land.’” ⁵ 

Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, ¹  that is, in Jesus.”

They have been informed about you – that you teach all the Jews now living ¹  among the Gentiles to abandon ²  Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children ³  or live ⁴  according to our customs.

When Gideon arrived, he heard a man telling another man about a dream he had. ¹  The man ²  said, “Look! I had a dream. I saw ³  a stale cake of barley bread rolling into the Midianite camp. It hit a tent so hard it knocked it over and turned it upside down. The tent just collapsed.” ⁴ 

Many scolded ¹  him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And those who were in front ¹  scolded ²  him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted ³  even more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

I am telling you the things I have seen while with the ¹  Father; ²  as for you, ³  practice the things you have heard from the ⁴  Father!”

After we located ¹  the disciples, we stayed there ²  seven days. They repeatedly told ³  Paul through the Spirit ⁴  not to set foot ⁵  in Jerusalem. ⁶ 

Now Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jehucal ¹  son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur ²  son of Malkijah had heard ³  the things that Jeremiah had been telling the people. They had heard him say,

Jeremiah finished telling all the people all these things the Lord their God had sent him to tell them. ¹ 

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! ¹ 

Listen, for I will speak excellent things, ¹  and my lips will utter ²  what is right.

For John had repeatedly told ¹  Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” ² 

Jesus ¹  sent him home, saying, “Do not even go into the village.” ²
